Grain Entry
Cleaned and tempered (moistened) wheat enters the machine's feed unit.
From there, the product is evenly distributed onto the rollers.
Inter-Roll Grinding
The machine has two steel rollers.
These rollers rotate in opposite directions.
The speeds of the rollers are generally different: one rotates faster, the other slower. This creates a frictional effect
Grain Crushing and
Crushing
Grain grains enter the rollers.
Here, the grain is broken, separated from its shell, and crushed.
In the initial stages, the grain is only broken (large pieces are removed), while in later stages, it is ground into finer flour.
Product Output and
Sifting
The milled grain exits the roller mill.
It is then graded according to its fineness using plansifters (sifters).
The remaining coarse particles are sent back to the roller mills, and the finer particles are separated into flour.
Repetitive Cycle
This process is repeated in multiple roller stages.
Thus, the wheat grain is separated into bran, semolina, and flour.
